Warm up - Superhero Training (10-15 mins)
Superhero Training - Without a ball, players will go through a series of superhero training exercises to become superheroes!
Set up
Create a large square or rectangular area with blue cones. On the inside of the blue area use yellow cones to make a slightly smaller square or rectangular area called “Football Island”.
Storytelling Instructions
“Attention, young superheroes! Today, you will undergo intense training to become powerful defenders of justice. Prepare to unleash your shooting and finishing abilities as we hone your superhero skills!”

Coaching Points
Instructions
The teacher will call out different command for the players to practise.
“Sixth sense!” - Move backward with heightened awareness, as if you possess an extra sensory power.
“Super Jumps!” - Jump as high as you can, showing off your superhuman leaping abilities. Can you touch the sky?
“Super Balancing!” - Stand on one leg, demonstrating your extraordinary stability and control. Remember to swap legs.
“Jumping on Rooftops!” - Perform hopscotch movements, pretending to leap from one rooftop to another.
“Look for danger!” - Side step with pivots, scanning your surroundings for potential threats.
“Flash!” - Run as fast as possible, imagining you have superhuman speed.
Challenge players to combine multiple superhero skills into sequences or circuits, such as performing flash runs followed by super jumps or combining sixth sense with rooftop jumps (hopscotch backwards).
Encourage players to demonstrate creativity by inventing their own superhero movements and incorporating them into the training.
Introduce obstacles such as cones or bibs that players must navigate around during their superhero training.
Players should focus on their technique and form during each exercise.
Players should be aware of the space around them and avoid colliding with other players.
Emphasise the importance of proper body alignment, balance, and coordination in performing the superhero movements.
Encourage players to embrace their inner superhero persona and showcase their unique superhero abilities.
Technical Development - Clean Your City (15-25 mins)
Clean Your City - Players will participate in a superhero-themed game where they can showcase their shooting and finishing abilities while cleaning up their city from dangerous debris (footballs).
Set up
Create a large square or rectangular area with blue cones. On the inside of the blue area use yellow cones to make a slightly smaller square or rectangular area called “Football Island”. Split Football Island into two sides diagonally. Players should have one football each.
Storytelling Instructions
“Attention, brave superheroes! The city is in dire need of your help to clean up the dangerous debris that has spread across the streets. Use your shooting and finishing skills to eliminate the obstacles and make the city safe again!”

Coaching Points
Instructions
Split the area in half so you have two “cities” next to each other with a channel in the middle where player are not allowed to cross. Then divide the players into two teams.
Each team has their designated city to defend, and their objective is to kick as many footballs as they can into the opposite city.
Players will kick footballs onto the opposing team’s side, aiming to have the fewest balls on their own side at the end of the game.
Encourage teamwork and strategic play to coordinate the timing and placement of the kicks.
The team with the least amount of balls on their side at the end of the game emerges as the victorious superheroes.
Introduce additional rules or challenges to spice up the game, such as limiting the number of touches per player before they must shoot or limiting players to only kick with their non-dominant foot.
For an even greater challenge, divide the area and players into four quarters. This time, you must clean your designated quarter to emerge as the ultimate superheroes.
Modify the size or shape of the islands to increase or decrease the difficulty based on the number of players and available space.
Emphasise the importance of accuracy and power in the kicks, encouraging players to aim for specific areas on the opposing team’s city and to avoid hitting innocent bystanders (other players).
Encourage players to use different shooting techniques such as laces, instep, or outside of their foot to vary their shots.
Remember to kick the centre of the back of the ball to keep it low and ensure accuracy.
If a ball strays too far and goes out of the designated area, players should retrieve it promptly before continuing with their mission.
Encourage fair play and good sportsmanship, reminding players that it’s the collective effort of the team that leads to victory.
Adjust the size of the islands and the number of footballs used based on the number of players and available space. Ensure player safety by maintaining appropriate distances and avoiding overcrowding.

Conditioned Game - Superhero Showdown (15-25 mins)
Superhero Showdown - Players will participate in a superhero-themed game where they can showcase their shooting and finishing abilities while taking on different superhero roles.
Set up
Create a large square or rectangular area with blue cones. On the inside of the blue area use yellow cones to make a slightly smaller square or rectangular area called “Football Island”. On opposite sides of football island have goals set up for players to shoot into, if goals are not available set up an equal number of tall pointy cones behind Football island for players to knock down.
Storytelling Instructions
“Get ready for the ultimate Superhero Showdown! As superheroes, you must face off against the forces of evil and save the day with your shooting and finishing skills. Are you ready for the challenge?”

Coaching Points
Divide the players into two teams, with each team assigned a superhero name (e.g., Team Avengers vs. Team Justice League).
Set up goals or tall point cones to knock down at opposite ends of the playing area.
Players will compete in a game where they must shoot and score with the most balls in their opponents goal to win or knock down their opponents cones first to win.
Players are not allowed to tackle each other while dribbling across Football Island. Players must shoot their football into the opponents goal or knock down their cones. After shooting a player must return back to their side and retrieve a new ball from their side of Football island.
Encourage players to use their shooting and finishing skills to beat the opposing team and secure victory.
Emphasise teamwork, communication, and strategy in coordinating attacks at the other teams goal.
Modify the playing area or rules to create different challenges and tactical situations for the players. For example. Players must shoot from certain distance marked out with cones, or players must shoot with their non dominant foot into the opponent's cones or goal.
Rotate players between teams to ensure everyone gets a chance to play on different teams.
The Teacher should monitor the game and restart as necessary.
Ensure there is ample space for all players to participate.
Encourage players to shoot from a distance with power enabling them to score quicker, players must make sure they’re accurate with their shot if they’re shooting form distance as they might miss the targets.
Encourage players to use different shooting techniques such as laces, instep, or outside of their foot to vary their shots.
Remember to kick the centre of the back of the ball to keep it low and ensure accuracy.
Promote a positive and supportive atmosphere, encouraging fair play and good sportsmanship among the superheroes as they may need to share balls with their team mates.
